About NAFCo

The Northern Appalachian Film Collective (NAFCo) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation based in DuBois, PA dedicated to promoting filmmaking and the arts in the Northern Appalachian Region.

We work with local non-profits, companies, and governmental agencies to achieve these goals. We host film screenings and film festivals that allow local filmmakers to show their films and to meet with the general public. We also provide, through these events, networking opportunities for filmmakers, technicians, actors and others to meet those with similar interests and goals. NAFCo members participate in a variety of films being made throughout the region.

We are reaching out to you, members of the local community, and inviting you to join our efforts and to learn about the art and science of filmmaking. We showcase films from around the world in our festivals alongside of those produced by local filmmakers that demonstrate that film is a universal language. We hold workshops to teach participants about different aspects of filmmaking ranging from location scouting, to documentary filmmaking, to acting, and to editing. We sponsor a Young Filmmaker’s Group to encourage young people to become involved in filmmaking.

We are inviting you to join us on this journey. You might not ever become a filmmaker or actor, but it is on opportunity for you to learn something new, a chance to improve skills you might already have, and to broaden your perspective on the role of art in the community.
